It has been over a year since I traveled to India to photograph the engagement of Nina Vaswani and Sam Patel.
We met in Jaipur early in the morning and started off our day photographing while riding elephants to the top of a historic fort. I was on one elephant with Nina’s mom, Nina and Sam were on one elephant and Gene and Nina’s dad were on the third elephant. While riding to the top of the fort I would photograph Sam and Nina on their elephant. The ride up was surreal the elephants would almost rock back and forth while traveling up the hill so it made for a bumpy but fun ride. Once we reached the fort we were able to take some photos near the entrance. We walked up the grand staircase and saw views of the city below. It was one of the most exciting photographic experiences I have ever had.
A special thank you to Gene Higa for taking these behind the scenes videos (this is part 1 of 3), giving you a glimpse of how I photograph and what our India adventure was like.
